Verticle and horizontal lines on fisst boot up, need help

Ok, got the new power supply and installed in my freshly put together rig after the puff of smoke incident. Powered up fine but the screen has a billion lines on it running from left to right and I can not read it to install windows. was going to post a picture but i cant find the cord to do it(wife hid it). Thank you for your help again in advance.

No, I dont think so. I thought that may be why. I am installing windows now and then the drivers for the card next. I am hoping this fixes it.

Yep, The card has been chicken fried. Gonna order a new one. question is do i just replace the 4870 or upgrade to the X2

Go with the cheaper one unless you plan on using this computer solely for the prupose of playing Crysis at maximum settings.

4870 can handle Crysis on high settings pretty good.

well you can't get the 4870x2 right now, they are all sold out. Go with the 3870, 4850, or the 4870 whichever one you prefer.

A single 9800GX2 handles Crysis on triple screens, 3840x1024 at highest settings without problems...
