Okay, my current plan is limited 1.5mbps download and 256kbps upload. This is on Broadband, not ADSL+2, which is unavailable here. The highest speed available is 20mbps download/ 512kbps upload, and telstra says that 50% of customers will get a download speed of 10mbps or more.
Both plans have the same download limit (25GB
) but i think the speed boost is worth it. the plan will cost me $20 extra per month. Is it worth upgrading? Oh, we will get a discount because our phone is also with telstra, so in reality that extra $20 cost is negated.
Our maximum download speed according to speedtest is around 150-170kB/s.
So basically i am asking:
Is it worth going from the 1.5mbps plan to the 20mbps plan? We actually already have a $20 discount applied to our current plan.
The hardest part yet is going to be convincing the parents to upgrade
And if it matters, we are less than 3km from the nearest exchange (according to google maps, which follows the roads it may be a lot less)
