Hi im looking for some advice on what hardware i should get to build a stable pc for gaming and 3D modeling, i would like it to have windows vista inistalled on it. Im a university student so my budget is a bit limited, im aiming for a £500. With the new games coming out such as Diablo 3 , battlefiled 1943 im going to be needing 4 gb min ram, 512 min graphics card and a fairly fast CPU. I have build a Desktop before but I have failed to get matching hardware. I have a Nvidia graphics card in the past and i have had bad experiences with it, i would like to get a Ati card this time. If anyone knows a good set of hardware that will match each other ( so there not bottle necking ) please reply and let me know.

Thank you.

so thats roughly 800 usd? if so here is a build i'm about to make that should do fine.
this board and cpu combo has massive OC potential

not really noticable unless you do hardcore rendering, modeling, video editing etc. in those cases you would just go to the i7 anyway.

I would personally go am3, and not even think about intel socket 775 as it is end of life, and no new cpu releases on that platform, so be warned that in the future, if you get socket 775 then you will need a new mobo and cpu when you upgrade. Id go for something like this:

Mobo:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158608
CPU:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159071
Memory:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/166463

Triple core>Dual core, same price, and DDR3, with a crossfire capable motherboard too;)

Should i go for the Intel Due CPU or the Intel Quad Core , they have the same price but Quad core is newer than the other. Can someone tell me which one will be more reliable and faster thanks. Also does this spec support 8 mb ram?

Tbh, i would either go phenom II AMD or core i7 intel, socket 775 is basically end of life, what you see is what you get. No new cpu's will be released for socket 775.

my budget only goes up to 600 pounds if you can refer me to i7 that will cost me in that range then il be glad to get a i7

iv heard the preformance is not great do u have a phenom II is it working fast for you
I know people with phenom II's, and they like them. They overclock very well, and perform similarly to a socket 775 core 2 chip. Only reason im running 775 is i built this system about 14 months ago ,before phenom II was released.
