Motherboard only supports 8gb of memory per slot, the amazon memory is ECC and will not work. What actual computer do you have now?

You do also realize that windows won't reactivate on a retail motherboard since you have an OEM license? And you really don't want to mix ram from an OEM system, unless you can match existing speed and timings. Best bet would be to just get all new ram. You are playing around with tech that is 3 generations old now though. Is it worth it?

Tell me what you think of this parts list. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RJn9nn

There is a compatibility note that says. "Some Intel H67 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Ivy Bridge CPUs."

If you need 16GB of RAM, buy another stick. That stuff has a CAS of 9 and a voltage of 1.5 which should be pretty damn fast.

You might be able to use Sysprep to transfer your old OS to the new board. If not, then you're gonna need to purchase Windows.
