need help buying a laptop

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a laptop and i'm not sure where to start. I want to be able to play most recent games. Even if it's not at the highest settings. Most of the time i will only use the laptop for surfing the web. I'd like something around $1000. Suggestions?

Looks like a decent laptop. I personally recommend AlienWare out of a lack of experience in the gaming laptops area.
