I just bought a new Mac Pro, and am trying to find the right non-apple monitor for me. The computer's main use will be music production, with some random gaming and video thrown in every now and then. I'm looking to utilize a dual-dvi setup eventually, but am just buying one monitor for now. I have about $375 (maybe less?) to spend, and need one within the next few days. I've been looking on ebay and found quite a few that I like, but I have no idea what I should lay my money down on (or how to weigh response time, aspect ratio, resolution, etc.). Oh, and while I really like Samsung, I'm not a huge fan of monitor speakers, not to mention that this will be the hub of a studio that will negate the use of them. I'm trying to.. go big or go home, as they say (22" and up). Any suggestions?
My friend has 3 Sceptre monitors. They all work beautifully(the exact model as a matter of fact). I've heard some horror stories about their customer support though. I believe the OP is looking for something that is 22" or higher though.
Here is an excellent monitor with good reviews, be wary though. You may receive an A or S panel(you can read more of it on google) It basically is you either get a Samsung made panel, or you get an AU Optronics panel(A panel) they are both identical on the outside, but there are slight differences in the image quality.
My Samsung 206BW got an A panel, but I don't mind. It still looks very good and there is an article somewhere that ran tests between the two(specifically on the 226BW) and said that the difference is not noticeable.
