Need help choosing an OS for a server

Hi there, have a question for everyone. I recently picked up an older IBM xSeries 225 server. Is has dual S604 Xeon 3.06GHz CPU's (32-bit), 4GB ram, dual 73GB SCSI hot-swap HDD, Radeon 7500 64MB AGP video card, CD-rom, SCSI DDS4 tape drive, dual redundant hot-swap power supplies

This server doesn't have an OS on it and was wondering what people would recommend I run on it. I have 95, 98se, NT4, 2000 pro & server, ME, XP home & Pro, Win 7. I am not really going to be using it for much. Kinda wanted to see how it would be to play some games on, plan on upgrading the video card.

Thanks for all the help and advice!

For some games, windows 7 all the way. Dor a server use, ubuntu server, as you dont have windows 7 home server. You need a new gpu to play flash games, that GPU you have in it now is awful.

Well I was kinda of thinking for older games, ones that I have that won't run on Win 7. I will probably put in my 9700pro 128mb.

Still a teribale GPU.But for old games, put 2000 or XP on it, but most games compatible with a windows os should be compatible with 7.XP games can run on windows 7, windows 7 games cant run on XP.

I've got some cereal box games that I like to play every once in a blue moon, but they don't run on Win 7 64-bit because of some 16-bit stuff, same with my Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 & 2, and my older command and Conquer.

What AGP would you recommend?

Do you want an actual server OS, or just an OS in general? I'm currently running Server 2003 on my DL360.

Well I was thinking I could possibly dual boot... Win 2000 Server and then either XP Pro or 2000 pro. 2003 server is a bit out of my price range.

Then use Windows XP lol.If it's doing the job right then what's the problem?

Well there is no OS on it right now, I'm just trying to figure out the best one to put on it to use as an old school gaming rig!

It looks like I will stick XP Pro onto it since it should see both CPU's! Thanks for the help everyone!
