I am going to take a wild guess and say the second one is ridiculously overpriced right now. Is the first one good? Now here comes the complicated question... I know this sounds crazy but is there a single core I can get that will be just as good? Because half of my stuff ****s up with multiple cores and theres no fixes... If not then I guess time to futurize... :(

FINE! midnight it was really kind of a debate between the one you suggested the e8500 and the q9550 I just wana be mega future proof and I hate waiting for things to compile for hours...

I mean you know you could go with something that suits you but i was just suggesting the core 2 duo cuz it has to cores its 3.1 ghz and its cheaper but if you want the quad then get it. :D

a good majority of the games coming out right now don't fully take advantage of quad cores. If you go to a few sites and look up benchmarks for games by FPS Dual cores are stealing the spotlight, but after game developers get on the ball and get all 4 cores to run efficiently with the games, it should be flipped favoring the quads. And most of the benchmarks i saw with basic applications like mp3 conversion, divx video converting etc etc, are with the quads so that already shows some begging potential.
