Hello,

i'm new to the buying computer parts section. Buying my first PC, and yes i'm kind of a gamer >.>

just wondering if this system is good:

CPU: CPU/Processor Intel Quad Core i7-920 (2.66 GHz/8M/D0/4.80 GT/45nm) LGA1366

Motherboard: MotherBoard Intel i7 ASUS P6T (X58/supporting Socket 1366/DDR3 2000/CF & SLi)

OR
Gigabyte EX58-UD3R Core i7 Motherboard LGA1366

RAM: Desktop DDR3 Ram 6GB Tri-Kit (3x2048MB) PC12800 1600MHz Patriot PSD36G1600KH 9-9-9-24 (i7 ready)

HDD: 3.5" HDD SATA-300 500GB 16MB Seagate (7200rpm)

DVD: 5.25" DVD Burner/Rw SATA Samsung DVD-SH-S223C 22x (Oem with Nero 8) Black

Graphics: Video Card PCI-e (nV) GTX 275 1792MB Gigabyte N275SO-18I (715/2520MHz)

OR

Asus ATI Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5 Full HD Graphics Card HDMI

Monitor:prob 21.5" or 23", just wondering whats does contrast mean: e.g. 10000:5, or 40000:5. Never get what it means

Case: mmm having trouble choosing on for the Fan cooling system (not liquid)

choosing between: Gaming Case Coolermaster CM SCOUT No PSU Black

Or

Gaming Case Coolermaster HAF 922 No PSU Black

or

Cooler Master HAF RC 932 Case Black Full Tower

Also what power supply (wattage) would be needed if i may ask?
Sorry for the bother i'm just having troubles deciding and friends keep saying different things.
[EDIT] Would they be compatible? [EDIT]

Cheers,
Linda

Hey :)
I can sort of help you with the Contrast question, but nothing else im afraid.

What it means by Contrast Ratio (1:50,000) is the comparison of the lightest color to the darkest color, so in essence, shows how bright the colors, and how vivid the image will usually be... so for example, a monitor with a 1:500 contrast ratio would not be as good as one with a 1:50,000 contrast ratio.

It all really depends on what you are using the monitor for, but usually, the high contrast ratio, the better

Also, PSU wise,
you would be looking at 600Watt+
