im thinking about the monitor beacause i would like to get the speakers and sound card at the same time, and a 15" crt is the first thing i needed to fix i figured

any help would be appreciated

First off, go with the Viewsonic! Compare the response time of the Dell with 20ms to the Viewsonic's response time of the 3ms! The lower the response time the better. It looks like you'll be doing some serious gaming and you don't want lag. That particular model from Viewsonic is very good.

Second, I have heard from several people how the Klipsch speakers are exceptional.

Third, that sound card is also very good. You may also want to consider M-Audio 5.1 or 7.1 sound cards. Good quality. From what I have read and have been told, onboard sound can actually rob framerate speed.

Actually, Clownfetus, you picked out great products (except, IMO, the Dell monitor). I think you need to go with your greatest need first and I think you can live without the speakers at this time. Yes, go with the monitor. Check out ZipZoomFly.com as well.

excellent thanks, and i was pretty much 90% with the viewsonic but anandtech gave such a good review to the dell but now its official, thanks alot gonna have to go with the viewsonic monitor and get the sound card/ speakers later - thanks again

You're welcome. I didn't realize AnandTech gave the Dell monitor such good reviews because that is a site I highly trust; I didn't read that particular review. Nevertheless, I have read enough and been given enough advice about Viewsonic quality (Samsung is good, also) and the response time factor. Too many people have told me that you don't want anything higher than 12ms if you are playing games. Good luck.

If you get a soundcard, up it up a notch for models with onboard RAM (marketed as XRAM or some crap like that) :)
