what can i do to upgrade this gaming pc 4 about 100-250 dollars?
is there anything really bottle necking it?
and will i eventually just have to buy all new stuff bcuz i was hoping to keep updating it for some time?
any other helpful information would be much appreciated.

Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe (2 PCI, 4 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN, IEEE-1394)

DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2200 MHz (11 x 200) 4200+

4gb DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM

ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2

520w power supply

Lol 250 won't get you anywhere save up till you have enough and build a new pc cause like every part there is just not gonna get you anywhere in new games and if you upgrade one part every other one will bottle neck it

the gfx card is a little low power i think, not sure on that, but that cpu and board are pretty dated, and if you replace them you have to replace the ram, and unless you have a retail os disk then you'll need a new os disk too, so you're looking at closer to 350 with the os and keeping the same gfx card, but then it would be more up-to-date.

but wat if i get an AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition
then i wudnt have to upgrade my motherboard.
and the os is on my harddrive not my motherboard so idk wat ur talkin about there

well that would work, forgot to check if that mobo could handle them, and you'd want the 955 or 965 not the 940, i don't think there is a 940 be but i'm not gunna say there isn't. and also the os liscences itself to the motherboard so people can't copy it and pirate the copies, so that os disk if it is the oem one can never work on another computer.

oh i didnt realize that, so what would be a good value cpu to get?
and can i even upgrade my cpu at all with out having to get new ram and gfx card to keep up?

well the cpu will help it no matter what, and the phenom 955 and 65 are great, and new ram and all would help but you'd need a new am3/am3+ mobo to get a good enough increase to notice the new ram since ddr2 doesn't go very high, but for 50 you can get 8gb's of ddr3 1600mhz ram now, but it isn't compatible with your mobo.

so if i gave u 200-300 dollars what exactly would you do to make it better but also to keep it upgradable in the future?
i dont really no anything about hardware, do i realy need to get the new mobo and ram just for ddr3?

you don't need to but it would help, and with that much i'd prob just grab the 955 for 120 or 965 on sale for 115 then use the last 185 for a hd6870, then save up for a while until i could afford a new mobo and new ram and a new os too, which would need another 250 for a decent mobo, 8gb's ddr3 1600, and the os.

Don't pirate anything, especially OSs. They're buggy and a lot of times people that share it have malware embedded in it. It's just not a good idea.

not to mention illegal and banned from discussion on this forum so we might want to drop this topic.
