need help deciding

Im going to be upgrading my video card soon.So i was wondering out of this 3 video cards which has the best all-around performance.ATI 5870,GTX 295, or GTX 480, dont care to much about the price. there all around 400-500 dollars.any advice would be much apperciated.:D
 
First of all, what are the rest of your specs? no point getting any of those cards if you have a pentum 4 or something...

Honestly i would recommend the 5870. Why? because it uses less power, produces less heat, and has only slightly less performance comparing to the GTX 480. It still beats the GTX 295 though.
 
The ultimate card there would be the 480.

But as you can see everyone here, includine me, recommends the 5870.
 
Well, actually the best bang for the buck would be the 295 because you can get them for $300 or less. Taking into account your statement, best ''all around'' performing card, it's the gtx480. Sure it's runs a little warmer and uses a little more energy, but it does offer better performance. Plus, if you are a folder, it's Nvidia hands down.
