need help fast

i reset the c-mos battery in an hp here, and now it refuses to respond when i press the power button, what happened? everythings exactly like it was ten seconds ago, the computer was unplugged when i did it, i wasnt holding any static charge, anyone have an answers???

ok guys i totally screwed that one up, the battery was put back in upside-down, now it turns on, but we are having a s**tload of trouble installing this fx6200 in a pci slot, all that comes up is a screen that says

PNY verto GEforce 6200 pci
version 5.44.a215p2r1
256MB ram

You should have installed the drivers with your old card still in. Then rebooted and put that card in.;)
 
But it seems he doesn't even get past post. The drivers are completely useless until he boots into windows.

Hm, make sure everything is seated properly, power connectors plugged in, The works.

If nothing helps the only other thing I can think of is to pull the CMOS one last time, this time unplugging the 12v power connector from the motherboard along with any other power connectors. Leave out for a few minutes, if not longer, then try again.
 
wait you really have to wait that long for it to clear? i only waited like 30-seconds... anyways, we are still having driver problems, but i think we can handle it, i took the cmos battery out for five min this time and it started up, unfortunetely in 800/600 and four-bit color, but it started none-the-less. does anyone know if a 6200 will overheat, even though it doesnt seem to need a fan? (this one only has a heatsink)
 
If it only has an passive cooler then its fine.

If ithas an hole in the heatsink, its pretty obvious that its gonna overheat during some hard gaming.

No, The heat sink it has is fine.

I have a 7600GS with just a heatsink, and its fine.

Sure, it runs at 50-70 Degree's but thats normal for my card.

But if it came with an fan wouldnt it probably need it?

Notice that passive cooling cards have bigger Heatsinks than ones with an fan?
