Need Help Finding Cheap Motherboard

Looking for a cheap motherboard [with good reviews] that can handle a fast processor, fast RAM [up to 16GB/up to 8 slots], and good GPU. Please assist.

Will be putting a quad core or above processor. I will be putting DDR2 800mhz RAM on it...would like to put DDR3 in future but not necessary...

Anyway please help me find a cheap motherboard that can handle this stuff. :]

Am looking to spend $40-$80 I guess? I don't know how much motherboards go for..

You da man. I'm looking to put an Intel on it.
And I'm sorry I am looking for 4 slots to be 8GB of RAM on...not 16GB...I keep confusing myself with my server sometimes. :p

There is one I was looking at in the ASUS P45 line that
said it took up to 8GB of DDR2, and when the DDR2 is
removed, you can put up to 6GB of DDR3. I think it had
4 slots for DDR2, and 2 slots for DDR3.

But I am thinking, if I will be getting DDR3, I might as well
get the i7 chip and motherboard. I think it is senseless
to put in the DDR3 with Quad Core or less.

That mobo was at least $70CAD higher than comparible
board without the DDR3 slots.

Anybody have good recommendations with good reviews? :)
Also, Asus or Gigabyte? Hmm...

And finally, does it matter what northbridge and soutbridge?..don't know what that is.

I'm currently runnin on an asus P5NE SLI mobo, up to 8GB RAM, 4x2GB 800MHz, supports up to intel quad core extreme (i think, but don't quote me on this that asus have, or are trying to, make it compatible with i7 processors by updateing the bios, but as that would mean changing power supplies around the mobo, i think that could be a load of crap), SLI configuration and up to 4 sata drives.

It has served me well the last year and a bit and i would recomend it without hesitation, costs about £60, so around $70 or so

nb and sb are a little exposed though but never overheat so it isnt an issue

only downside, no DDR3, but for the price and what is available on it it is a VERY good board

Correct me if I'm wrong but AMD processors typically can't go on the same motherboard an Intel processor can...can it?...
