ok, so as of now i have a very very crappy 500 watt psu that came with my apevia case. its so off brand that when i went to research it online i found that the company name had changed 8 times in 3 years. i wasnt too worried until when we recently had a brownout when i wasnt home and now it is having votage flux issues. anyway i need a new psu that can support my hardware (specs in sig) (also plan on buying another video card to sli in the near future) my price range is up to $140 US. i can go up to $180 US, but i dont want to. also would multiple 12v rails or a single 12v rail be better for the setup i have?

I recommend OCZ or Antec psu's. They have great reviews and alot of people here say great things about them. I personally own a Ultra psu and also love it.

When looking at nwer PSU's you want to look for amps, any of the ones here supply 72 amps which is very good and all of them are good choices. Another good choice is this.

It doesn't say in the spec's but it has 4 12v lines that give 19amps each (total of 76 amps). HEC is a lesser known company making their way up the ranks, I run the 650watt version of this in my own comp, when I bought it they were even lesser known I got it for $59.99. And since then the price has been raised to $84.99, I would assume because the amount they have sold, I HIGHLY recommend this company.

Very good products and at a cheaper price then the bigger names.

If you want to get a quality PSU, take a look at anywhere from Cooler Master, Thermaltake, Ultra, Corsair, Antec and OCZ as mentioned before. Zalman, XIGMATEK also seem really good. :)

If in any case you are in a budget, Rosewill power supplies make really good units for the price. ;)

actually, i just ordered the antec quattro 850 watt modular power supply from newegg earlier today. 850 watts and 4 12v rails @ 72 amps. it seems really good, and the racing stripes look cool too :P
