When i start my computer i get a message saying "Hardware Monitor found an error", enter power setup menu for details. F1 to enter setup menu and F2 to continue. Since i got this error my computer has really been going slow and lagging. Anyone know what can this be and how can i fix it? Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.

I went into the Hardware monitor option and this is what it shows.

MB Temperature- 54.5 C/ 130 F
CPU Temperature 78 C/ 172 F
(Both of those numbers are in red which I'm guessing is not a good thing.)

Vcore Voltage 1.4V

+3.3V Voltages 3.2 V
+5V Voltages 4.9V
+12V Voltages 12.4V
-12V Voltages -12.1V

CPU Temps are dangerously high, lagging/slowing down might happen because the CPU slows down to protect itself from overheating and frying out in a spectacular blaze of heavenly flames...

Have you checked if the CPU fan is working? And the HSF is correctly installed?

If the fan/hsf are alright, the thermal paste might be getting old...

Oh and since both CPU and m/b temps seem high...maybe the case ambient temps are getting too high. Is anything blocking the air intake? Are there ANY fans that don't seem to work? Also, how hot is it there...hot summer days, broken aircons and modern computers don't mix.

Insides of your computer might also need cleaning up - dust buildups do no good to heat transfer, a can of compressed air should do the job.
