I have a web server run on WIN 2003 Server, the firewall is build in.
I am sure I have opened all the services that the remote desktop are needed, because some computers which are on the same subnetwork with the server can connect to the server correctly.
now my computer is in another network and problem set in,I can't connect to my server with the remote desktop.but I can login the FTP and ping it.
I checked the port 3389 with the command "telnet www.myhost.com 3389",I get a blank command window. In the server firewall,I have chosen the option "Any computer(Including those on the Internet)".I told the the administrator to close the firewall,I still can't login the remote desktop.

can any one help me? Any help is welcome.my Email:[email protected]

ps:I am sorry for my poor English:)

It sounds like you might have a problem with the configuration with a router or firewall between the two subnets. You would need to contact the person in charge of configuring that device and have him allow traffic on port 3389 thought the device and to the server. If it's a Cisco router then you need to configure an ACL to allow the traffic.

This is not something you should do unless you have permission.

Well this might sound like a dumb question but are you sure port 3389 is the port for your remote desktop.
