need help from the e8400 overclockers

i thought i had my 8400 stable at 4.0, but as it turns out it fails about 8 hours into orthos using blend setting. my voltage after vdroop is 1.41 with my FSB at 445. i am using kingston kvr800d2 RAM, with timings at 5-6-6-18 and a DRAM frequency of 445. stock ram voltage is 1.8 and i have it at 1.9.

i have noticed that my games get little intermittent chops, for example i will be running a solid 70 FPS and the screen still is choppy every few seconds. it's not terribly noticeable, and still playable but it definitely annoys me. i didn't have this problem before OCing.

everything i have read says that running 800mhz ram higher than 400mhz will likely cause a BSOD. my system runs fine except for failing orthos and the game problem. it could be something else other than the ram but i get the feeling that its the problem.

would buying 1066 RAM or higher likely fix the problem?

northbridge voltage is on auto

up the ram voltage to 2.1v, as long as it has a heatspreader it'll be fine.

and try adding a little voltage to the cpu. one step should add enough to be stable for over 24hrs.

Its highly possible its your ram, i only run orthos for about 4 or so hours. If it crashes at 8.. you will be fine, its likely you'll never see any problems out of it.

okay but what would explain the chopiness? its not really high end ram i am using. i mean its kingston so its quality, but not what youd refer to as overclocking ram. its the only thing i can think of that would explain the problem but im not sure enough to rush out and spend a couple hundred on 1066 ram
