Hi guys
Recently i opened up my computer to see how it was doing heat wise, dust, etc. I turned on my computer to see how much heat it would pump out and to see if there was any dust unsettling. With my heatsink i have a stock AMD Phenom II 955 BE heatsink and fan. The fan on it currently is a 3-pin fan because my 4-pin fan that came with it broke, so whenever i turn it on, it runs at 100% until speedfan gets up and running when i log in. well anyways, i wasn't watching myself and my finger chipped the fan at a high speed, causing it to break one of the fans fins, and causing it to vibrate LOUDLY. i quickly turned it off as this scared me and checked the heatsink to see what went wrong. The fins on the corners of the heatsink were loose and wobbly and realized that when i put the fan bracket back on, it was lose and shifted a lot. I want to know if there was a way i could make those fins stand still and not shift around, whether it be by soldering or something. I also want to know if hot gluing it would work, because i'm not sure if the heat would melt it or not. I'm probably better off just getting a new heatsink, but i'd like to see if there's a way i can actually fix this and save a few bucks.
thanks in advance!
