Need help installing windows

Ok recently i am using Window Vista but then it just kept crashing my games. So i wanna switch back to XP again. Just wondering how can i do this without deleting all the stuff on my comp right now?
 
unfortunately there is no way to do that. you should make copies of all of your important data onto an external harddrive or some other kind of removable media, and you will have to to a fresh install of windows XP
 
put your windowsXP cd in your drive, then restart your computer. when it asks if you want to boot from CD, hit enter. then follow the directions to format the harddrive and then to install windows XP. keep in mind when doing this not only do you lose your data, but you need to download and reinstall any device drivers you may need

if youre drive is partitioned you can move your files to the D drive and install XP on the C drive
