Need Help! Laptop is really hot, fan isn't working?

I need some help here. I installed a little program to tell me how hot my t61p is, and the Intel Cores are running at about 70-72 C, while the graphics card is all the way up at 88 C. The ACPI, whatever that is, it also up around 80 C.

That seems really hot, and I don't think that my fan is working anymore. It used to work, but right now it doesn't appear to be.

So I tried spraying some air into the laptop to try and clean out dust, etc. That didn't help.

I want to open up my ThinkPad to have a look inside and see if the problem is obvious -- is there a step-by-step somewhere on how to do that? I don't see anything like this on ThinkPad's site, but I might be missing it.

Any other tips? I know I could get a cooling pad but (1) I don't want to unless I absolutely have to, and I never got hot prior to my fan issues, and (2) that wouldn't fix whatever the problem is with the laptop even if it would help with cooling.

Help please, and thank you.

here?

you may have to replace the fan in it. did the fan make any noise prior to the hot temps? or did it suddenly just stop working?
Cooling pads are definately worth it. my dads sony vaio gets very hot (70c+) so he bought one for like $30, and it cools right down to the 40-45c range.
