Every time I use my laptop, the number that is use ranges between 95-105. Can anybody help me lower the number of processes?

Many of those processes are simply the essential back ground services needed to see Windows run normally. For reducing the amount of items that automatically load up along with Windows you would use the msconfig utility's selective startup option.

In the startup and services group, remembering to check the "hide all microsoft services" option, you disable 3rd party items. Those also include startup items for video and sound as well. But anything you disable can also be re-enabled later if found needed.

Thanks, I'll give that a try:D.

ehhh... 61% CPU usage for only web browser and email inbox running. Gross. what laptop is this?

That image there shows that Thunderbird is being run at the same time bringing it up only a little. I mean only a little like .05% or some other small figure. With two IE windows open at the moment I see 0-2% cpu usage as that fluxuates along with 55 processes.

There would be some more here as well except some things were intentionally uncecked in the startup and services groups to avoid any software conflicts for the most part. When needed I simply go in and re-enable those.
