Need help, monitor won't connect to laptop

Hi, I've tried 3 different monitors on my laptop, 2 of which worked in the past(1 is new) and none of them can connect. I just get a black screen and for a second it says no signal or check video cable. I have everything plugged in tightly, restarted my comp, have my graphics set to multiple displays, etc. My HDMI port works when I connect it to my TV, but I can't get anything to connect to the VGA port, could it be broken?
 
What GPU do you have?
What ports are you using to connect it? What cable brands are they?
Sometimes it happens that VGA port to HDMI doesn't work as both are two different types of signals,
 
Sorry for the confusion, It's VGA to VGA, I just used the HDMI as an example of something else that would connect.

Check your bios settings as sometime it need vga to be enabled.
Also Check your windows video card options as it might have the same setup.
 
Anyone? I just don't understand it used to work a few months ago I'd always connect my monitor, now it won't work and I'm really confused. : /
