Ok, so i just built a new comp. 9800 GTX SSC gpu, EVGA 780i mobo, 4gb of G skills ddr800, sata seagate 250 hd, core 2 duo e8500 wolfdale cpu. I installed xp, it worked....kind of. It runs fine for about 3 hours and then i start getting blue screens, mostly i would assume from the research i did was a memory problem. I got blue screens like Bad_Pool_Caller m PFN_LIST_CORRUPT, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. Please keep in mind though that this is my first build and really had never messed with the hardware of a computer before. But i managed to build it and get it running on the first try, so give me a little credit. Ok so then i reformatted and resinstalled xp again, still same problems and problems with installing programs, registry errors etc. So i reformat once again and install vista 32bit with both sticks of ram in. I Get to the completion process and i get blue screen BAD_POOL_CALLER. So i try again and same thing hapens. I open up my beautiful xclio a380 and take the stick from dimm slot 0 out and replace it with the stick from dimm slot 2. boot it up with only 2 gb of ram and it installs and everything runs smoothly, no updating windows problems or anything. I get to sp1 for vista and decide to put the other stick of ram i took out earlier into dimm2. boot up for a little and it runs fine the mozilla starts to crash and then blue screens come and various World of warcraft errors that i never recieved with only 1 stick of ram in. So then its time for memtest86.. I download the iso package so i can boot from cd rom because i didnt install a floppy when i built my comp. It wont boot. So then i resort to windows memory diagnostic and it works. I run it with 1 2gb stick at a time because the program says it cant do it with 4..now each time i let the test run a few times and it passed all of them on each stick. but i did not let the test run over and over because it didnt seem like it would ever stop unless pressed X to cancel it. Should i have let it continue to run? does it stop at some point? anyways, the only thing i can think of is dimm slot 2 is bad but i dont know how to run a diagnostic on my mobo or a dimm slot specifically. One other question, I installed evga precision and it worked and i could adjust my fan control, then installed a new driver from nvidia and the fan control is greyed out? Any advice, answers or opinions anyone??
