I recently bought a new harddrive for my other computer and the one i used to have ran off of an IDE cable. The new harddrive i have uses a SATA cable. my mobo supports both but when i go into the BIOS to switch it over i cannot seem to find the option. the BIOS that my mobo uses is Pheniox -Award BIOS 2005(i believe).
What happens is i boot up, goes through a few black screens then brings me to the screen that asks if i want to boot in safe mode, regular, ect. i hit boot windows normally and it just resets and takes me back to the same screen. I also tried clicking safe mode, same thing. and when i tried "boot windows from last known working..." it says windows cannot boot because its missing a file. something to the effect of \WINDOWS\system32\config\SYSTEM
when i go into my bios i can see my harddrive and how much availible space there is on it.
any help would be awesome.
