Need Help, New System Not Responding

Yep try taking some RAM out etc.

Does your board manual describe what any of those light sequences actually mean?

Apparently your board works with the 4670K anyway so it might not be a CPU or BIOS incompatibility.

I tried removing both sticks of RAM and reinserting them using only 1 at a time, same thing. I just removed the CPU fan and CPU and they look fine. I even just plugged in the CPU fan without mounting it while trying to boot to take possibly uneven pressure or SOMETHING off the CPU and... nothing, same thing... no way to tell if it's the RAM, CPU or MB that's messed up. If I could return them all and reorder I would! I don't see anything on the LED boot sequence in the manual but I know the CPU LED lights first, then the RAM, then the VGA then Boot Device.

Seems odd. Probably the board that's dead or if you got unlucky maybe both sticks of RAM.

I'm just thinking it might also be the PSU but more likely the board.

Send it all back and replace it all but this time get a 4690K since it's newer and the rest of it. ;)

I bought the extra 1 Year Accidental Damage Coverage on the MB anyway... guess I'm going to send back the RAM, Board and CPU... just not sure how receptive they will be to that.

Well so long as you have a receipt and it's within their returns period they should be ok with it.

Does look like something you bought was faulty. Probably the motherboard.

I'm doing the RMA request now and it's asking for details. I'm just saying "dead parts"

Yeah sounds OK.

Obviously I've never used Newegg before because I live in the UK but it sounds fine. At least they'll know to test them before trying to resell them!

id say its most likely the board. what are the socket pins like on the board? if even a few are bent etc then it will cause this problem.

if the cpu is brand new i highly doubt it will be that what is the problem. and i doubt both ram sticks are dead. I think the boot LED is just that it cant find a boot device as its first build you havent set it to anything yet.

the board will start with a dead cpu including fans etc, ive had it on mine but it will usually start flashing between the cpu and RAM leds if there is a problem whereas yours checks them both once and then sticks on the boot led.

id personally send just the board back but like spirit says if your wanting to swap it for the newer 4690k then that would be best.
