Here are the components so far I hae decided on please tell me what you think:
- Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
- ASUS P5E Deluxe LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard
- OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1200 (PC2 9600) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model OCZ2P1200LV4GK
- Western Digital RE3 WD5002ABYS-01B1B0 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
- SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache IDE 22X DVD±R DVD Burner
- Linkworld 72522-2228U+P04 Black/Silver ATX Tower Computer Case430W Power Supply

Thank you guys so much for the help. This is very important to me so thank you guys again, and if there is everything you think that needs to be changed please let me know. THank you guys again I appreciate it.

At this price range, you would be better off going with an AMD build as 775 is basically end of life as far as new cpu/motherboard releases. "Linkworld" power supply is an off brand, go with something like an ocz, antec, pcpower&cooling, corsair, xclio, BFG, Thermaltake, FSP, Seasonic, or zalman power supply.

well im an idiot n forgot a video card so are there any suggestions or any reccomendations from u guys for a video card or how to pick one out n what to look for

also i will look into an AMD cpu i know that intel and AMD are thee main brands but since i know nothing about building them intel was the only known name but i will look into an AMD one thank u very much

also please keep the help coming i appreciate all of it

ok after looking and taking your advice here are some more options then to think about and help me decide on.

Case: XION Solaris XON-401 Black with Green LED Light Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 450W Power Supply
CPU(AMD) : AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition Processor
Motherboard(AMD): ECS BLACK SERIES GF8200A (V1.0) AM2+/AM3 NVIDIA GeForce 8200 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

now that does not mean that the INTEL is still not a choice i am just saying if anyone wants to give there opinion on whether to use the AMD or the INTEL i will gladly listen to this as well as looking at my original set up and also any ideas on a Video Card and I want to do DUAL monitors for my computer set up

also if you guys think that you guys can design a better system for still the applications i need it for I would gladly look at it and if you can design one with DDR3 memory instead that would be great.

If you are going to try to design one better to reiderate my focuses are:
- Multiple Proccesses at same time
- Run CAD program quickly
- Be able to do program calculations quickly

Thank you guys again for any help I appreciate everything from anyone who trys to help.

What CAD program are you planning on using? Unless you are planning on buying a workstation card for a workstation computer, you shouldn't need to invest too much money in a GPU. I've run Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Microstation on this with a (now) $70 video card and I've had no problems. Besides, I would think that these programs are more CPU intensive. They always managed to hog up one of my cores. I would stick with a quad or tricore processor with a fast clock speed.
