Need help overclocking...?

Hi, as some of you guys already know i built my new rig, and i wanted to overclock. I am familiar with the word but not the process, and i have tried doing this myself. Does anyone have a guide i can follow, i know already to go into the bios and tab AI tweaker but then theres bunch of things i can set but do not know which. As you would know i have an Asus board (P5Q Pro) , Q6600 and a Zalman CNPS 9700 which i dont think was a good idea but should get the job done. Is there any tips you guys can shoot me? I would love them please help! thanks in advance

Uh oh..... i think i made a mistake, ive decided to overclock for the meantime and i think i overclocked too much which made my system to restart. But usually it would restart and say Overclocking failed load defaults settings etc. This time it didnt its just all black screened nothing popped up. Im very scared of what i have done, please help me, the worst it can get is the CPU is fried which i dont want......... oh god!!!
