Need help picking a computer

I wouldn't get either one of them. Acers are among the crappiest Pc's on the market in terms of component quality...it'll break on you.

What would you reccomend then. I need this as a home computer for surfing the net, e-mail, tracking costs in excel, writing documents and possiably watching some videos on.

I wanted to get something as cheap as possiable to fill those needs and still have some newer components so the computer would not be outdated in 3 months. The Acer with the i3 dual core 6GB Ram seemed like the best since it had a lot but only cost like $550.

What else is out there for the $600 price range that you would suggest?

What about these:

Acer has been making computers for a long time.

I have an Acer from 2005 and never had an issue with it.
Maybe that's changed...

^ Look at the PSU. It's probable a Bestec, right? Those are among the worst PSU's you can have in your computer.

Gateway and Emachines are also Acer brands, btw.

If you want a good desktop, some Dells aren't actually that bad, but personally I'd have to go with Asus or Lenovo. They may seem a bit more expensive for the performance you get, but they have much better build quality.

What are you using the system for? Any heavy tasks like gaming, or just everyday stuff?
