Need help picking parts for new PC

So i'm trying to get the parts together on newegg, if I have to pay a bit more for convenience so be it. but the processor is a solid 30 dollars more then from microcenter and it says "devil's canyon i5" wth is that? should I just drive down to microcenter for this part?

also any comparable motherboards on newegg with similar quality and price? this one isn't on it and was hoping to get most of the parts from the one site and possibly one trip to microcenter.

"devil's canyon" ? this is correct right?

in any case I'm going to have to take a trip for the CPU and motherboard.
So look for a z97? anything else I should know with this build? I'm looking for durability and quality, if I have to pay a bit more for this I am willing to.

everything else is loaded in my cart from Newegg and Amazon, sticking to two online sites seemed easiest and both of them combined gave me the best prices without having to shop from 4-5 different places.

again posting current build

thanks to smith and spirit getting me on track for a decent build I probably wouldn't have done by myself.

It's a good build. Now it's time to hit the order button! :good:

thanks for the last minute confidence! should be ordering tomar, just making sure didn't double anything on the two sites and adding up the amounts.

sorry another question, do I need some sort of sata cable for this stuff? I keep reading something about a sata cable.
edit i'm very sure I need a sata cable for the HD, I ordered this
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009GUXU52/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
looks alright? do I need any other cables with this build that these parts won't come with?

things to do
before installing windows make sure SSD is set to blahblah mode in bios
then add the next HD
then install windows on main SSD?
will it give me a choice, is there the specific slot for main HD I will install the operating system on?

You need an optical drive for the Windows disk. You have to go into BIOS and select boot from CD. Just attach your SSD to install, once Windows is installed then you can connect the Western Digital. SATA cables may come with the mother board.

The motherboard often comes with 2 or 3 SATA cables. These are used to attach hard drives, optical, etc

ok well fortunately I didn't order anything yet, I kind of needed to give someone the money to put on their card to use.. lol my only goes to 300.

Should I take the sata off my list then? (it's ready to order on amazon)

Also could someone post just a basic optical drive for this build (no blue ray or anything needed) going to go back a few pages and check the one smith posted.

Also any other quality motherboards I can either order off amazon or newegg? unfortunately the one on the list was like 30 dollars more on those sites as opposed to micro center, I am still going to take a ride to micro for the i5, so should I just look for it there?

Alternatively you could buy Windows from Microsoft as an ISO download, put the ISO onto a USB using Rufus (free and very easy to use!) and then boot off the USB drive to install Windows. Saves having to buy an optical drive you'll only ever use to install Windows. ;)
