Need help please...thank you

First off just wanted to say hi and this is my first and i don't know much about computers.Anyways, lately my monitor has been stating "no video signal/out of range" after the pc has been turned on. I can still hear the fan going and the light on my tower is still on and sometimes there is still a green light on the monitor but just no image.Also, when i restart, it doesnt even go to the bios, just a complete black screen even though it seems like the pc is running.Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Right, it sounds like a hardware issue so first remove the RAM from the PC carefully as to not damage it. What should happen is that the system beeps a number of times. If this happens then we can rule out the motherboard and power supply. If it doesn't then there is a problem. If there are beeps replace the RAM. Either way post back here with the results.

When I overclocked my PC too much that happened to me. Look in the device manager for any conflicts or problems. Make sure the video card works by either using onboard video or another video card. If none of this works do as suggested above.
