Need help upgrading old rig.

Need help upgrading my old rig.
So here's the scoop. I built my own pc for gaming 5 years ago, then joined the military and gave the pc to my brother. Now that I have finished my service, I got my computer back and would like to upgrade anything that needs upgrading so I can play all the badass games that I have been missing out on. Only problem is, just about all of my computer knowledge is 5 years old... So I was wondering if I posted my pc specs on here, if somebody with some more up to date computer knowledge could let me know I would need to upgrade in order for my pc to be able to play current gen games on max settings. Nothing too excessive, though. If gaming pc's are anything like they were 5 years ago, top of the line tech isn't necessary to max settings. Maybe I'm wrong though, who knows. I really just don't want to have to upgrade again for a while. Anyway, here is the list of parts off my parts from newegg envoice 5 years ago:

THANKS A LOT FOR ANY HELP I RECEIVE, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

Also, is there any where I can sell my old parts? Would 5 year old parts even be worth anything? hmmmm.

I would recommend selling your system and using the money to build a new one. Don't bother upgrading it.

Sell it and use the money to build yourself a new system. Wouldn't be worth the time and money to upgrade this.

Where would I be able to to sell my computer? Craigslist? How do I find out how much it's worth? Sorry, I have no experience selling computer parts. So would I sell it whole or in pieces? Thanks for the help.

It'd probably be worth more if it had Windows 7 64... I'm not sure about how many computers Windows 7 can be installed on (my friend's 7 Ultimate disc has been installed on my computer twice, his two or three times, another friend's once, and I believe his cousin's), but since you might want to format the hard drive before you sell it (to make it fresh) anyway, you could buy your Windows 7 64 disc and install it on the old system before you sell it and keep the disc for your new system. I'm not sure if it's a flawless idea, but you'll be able to sell your computer for more and it will definitely sell faster since Vista... Well, it sucks :P.

Also Craigslist could be a good place to sell your whole computer. The money you get will be nowhere near your new system, but it will be a good start.
