just bought a new motherboard the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO, a new CPU the AMD Phenom II X6 3.3GHz 1100T, and new RAM 2x2GB DDR3 @ 2000MHz Kingston HyperX.
Now i took out my old motherboard thew one listed below with the CPU and RAM still attached i then installed the new mobo, cpu and ram into the case and fired it up. All lights came on fans came on, except nothing showed up on the monitor. I tried a different monitor and that didn't work. I took out the GPU and used the onboard graphics and that still didn't work i took out 1 stick of RAM changed that around swapped them over still nothing. I then disconnected the HDD and CD Rom as well as the video card and still nothing. So i tried to use my old MOBO again as now the same issue is happening with that, so i decided to test a different powersupply and that didnt change a thing i have no idea wtf is going on can somebody please help me as i need my computer back!

thanks bill,

Even if you didn't reinstall Windows for the new mb, seems like you should get something on the screen. Is the bios set for the igp?

yeah i didnt reinstall windows i was going to do that once i had the new components set up, and i tested another machine with the hardrive not attached at that still showed something on the screen but i get a bit lost with the bios igp?

There's a setting in the bios. Depends on video card or onboard card. I suspect you'll be trying with the onboard vc(igp)first since it's less to deal with. I'll look up the setting for it and edit it in here, in a min:good:

silly me! i forgot to connect the 8pin12V power to the new motherboard only had the 24pin connected! booted up and the monitor lights up haha doesnt work on my old mobo still though... ah well not fussed anymore
Thanks heaps for your help and fast responses
