I want to build a pc for my brother. All he plays steam games. My budget is 600 usd with any lcd monitor. what would be a good build?

Well if you only play steam games, then an E6600 with a 7900GT graphics card would be more than adequate. If you are really on a budge then just get the 7600GT will be enough or the 7900GS, but then if you are considering a 7900GS the extra for a 7900GT is worthwhile.

For the motherboard you can just get any, if you are on a budget. They are pretty much the same, if you want a really outstanding one you have to pay a lot more for it.

The 7900GS is not worth considering since if you can afford to pay extra for that the why not just fork out just a little bit more for much better performance.

For Ram you can just get the DDR2 800MHz sticks, they represent the best value at the moment, the DDR 2 1060 RAM are a rip off, and plus you don't need that extra performance, DDR 2 800 is overkill for Steam games already.

Thats good but will they all come to the budget line? adding a videocard ram, any lcd monitor, case all together would cost me more then 600 if i started with e6600 cpu and that mobo. what do you think?

$US23.54 for a CPU, you must be joking but the looking at the specs 1MB cache and 1.8GHz its not very good. I still think you should use the money for better CPU and motherboard rather than a LCD monitor. CRT is better for gaming, and its so much cheaper too. For under $US80 you can have 21" CRT.

This amd 6000+ is bit faster then intel e6600 on stock speed. I really want to get the quad core setup with a budget of 900.00usd
