Need help with 22" Acer resolution.

Hi Everyone,

I just got my new 22" Acer. My old screen was a 17" Sharp (non-widescreen) 1024 x 768. I was wondering what resolution I need to set my new 22" Acer to be the make the icons and everything else normal size because the only way the screen shows good quality is 1600 x 1050. So please tell me what size I should make it to make it normal size and where to do it. (i know u have to do it at Display/Settings, but maybe there is a different way to make it normal size but good quality.
 
Did you mean 1680 x 1050?

Every LCD monitor has its own native resolution and displaying images in a different resolution other than its native will look bad. I believe Acer's 22" LCD has 1680 x 1050 as the native resolution.

You would need to go to your Control Panel > Display. Another way would be to go to your graphic card setting and set the resolution there.
 
That's not what he asked; he wants to know if he can use a lower resolution because things are too small at 1680x1050.

You could see if your monitor supports 1440x900. That's the next smallest 16:10 resolution. Alternatively, you could use 1680x1050 and just crank up the icon and text sizes.
 
yes ty foryways u understood what i wanted. 1440x900 works perfectly, but it's really bad quiality, but thnx anyways =)
 
Yeah, anything but the native resolution will be bad quality. If I were you I'd just turn up the text size in Windows. Actually, I'd get a 19" monitor, but you know what I mean.
