Need Help With Audio Files

I have some rather lengthy audio files that I need to copy to a Music-CD. I have a program (a.k.a. Audacity) that will cut the file in half so that I can fit one half on a CD and the other half on another CD, but this is a pain and it takes twice the CDs. Anyway, I know that it’s possible to compress hours of audio onto a single CD, but I don’t know how to do this or if it requires a special type of CD, etc. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

1. You can buy CDs that have a slightly higher capacity (say 99minutes)
2. You can compress the audio to force it to fit into a CD but the result wont be the same (i.e., you ever hear people talk on fast-forward?)

Thanks for your help...The 99min CD's will work in many circumstances but I have a CD that contains approx. 20 hours worth of audio files and I was wondering how in the world they were able to fit all of that on a single CD.

Thats not fitable as an AudioCD. If it's an MP3 CD or as data or a AudioDVD thats a different story.

So how could I copy 20 hrs. onto a AudioDVD or MP3 CD (do I need a special program). I was also wondering what kind of CD/format I would need in order to play it in a car stereo

you just have to burn the mp3 files to the CD as a Data CD, but that will only play in your car if your head unit supports MP3 Cds. If you have an aftermarket stereo check the book, if not check your vehicle's owner's manual
