I was wondering whats a graphics accelerator and do i need a compatibal card to use it with or can a graphics accelerator be used with integrated graphics or the card i have sitting next to me, a Radeon 9250? I want a good graphics card but its harder to find one b/c my computer only has a PCI standard slot or PCI x1 and all cards now are made PCI x16. Any ideas? Thanks

Well the fact that your motherboard doesn't even have an AGP slot really stricts your options. Depends on what you define as being "good". Your card the Radeon 9250 is the most common PCI card out there, and its perfect for just 2D work and movie watching. It can even handle the Aero GUI of vista, but I doubt you would be running that anytime soon. I can deduce from the fact a PCI motherboard will not support very powerful processors.
A graphics accelerator is just a fancy name for a graphics card, that's what it is, and you can't run it in conjunction with integrated graphics, if you want to use a graphics card, then you must disable the onboard graphics.
