need help with date formate

I cant seem to figure out why my date formate has suddenly went screwy. On this forum it is the "correct way" mm/dd/yyyy. but on other sites and even in Simcity 4 it is showing up dd/mm/yyyy. can some one let me know whats going on?

I tried to go into controll panel> and regional but it was correct

Depends what you call correct.
On this forum we in the UK would call it "wrong" as we go dd/mm/yy but across the big wide ocean it is termed "correct". Unfortunately because the British Empire is not what it use to be we cannot enforce our rule for every site

I understand that, this is why i used the quotes

we in the states could see this abomination of the date format coming back in the 1700s..... and you thought the Boston tea party was about tea.
