hey i have just recently built my own desktop pc up, its the first time i have ever built a pc and i am having a little trouble..heres my specs first
OS -Windows 7 Ultimate
CPU - AMD Phenom II X 6 1100T
Motherboard - GA-890GPA-UD3H
Memory - 8gb DDR3 G.Skill 12800 at 1600mhz
Graphics - XFX HD 6970
Hardrives - 1 x Hitatchi 1tb & 1 x Barracuda 1.5tb
PSU - GTX 750
I also have a Corsair H50 as i plan to over clock cpu when i get this sorted
Problem
I finished building my pc today. then i connected up my new 1080p LED monitor to the vga slot in the back on the motherboard and nothing showed up when i booted my pc, so then i tried hooking it up to my tv using hdmi on motherboard and still nothing happend, i then plugged the hdmi cable into the hd 6970 and this time it worked..my pc is working completley fine but the only thing wrong seem to be the display on the motherboard connections i have updated driver on motherboard for vga and still not workin.. i am stuck now can anyone help!! thanks in advance
also thought i might mention that when i booted up my pc with the display working from the hd6970. the hd6970 wasnt even recognised on my desktop, when i went to displays. it was detecting my hd tv as a standard plug and play vga device and would only go up to 1280x780. i then installed hd6970 with drivers from website, it then recognized it and allowed me to put the rez up to 1920x1080..sorry if this was useful, wasnt sure if it would help. thanks
