Have tried to install a couple of different programs and they are the kind that automatically go to a destination, in other words you don't get to specify where you want it to be installed, They are all looking for an F: drive. I have an external hard drive labeled G:, is there a way to change the letter without loosing the data on the drive, is there an easier way? will changing the drive letter end my troubles? I am running XP srvpk 2.

ALso gives me an error of 1327

Welcome to the forum.

i think there must be a way to change the destination, but yes. i know partition magic does change the drive but dont know of any free ones. wait for some one to post back to make sure there is a free one. also if someone knows if there really no way to chnage the install location if there is a way or something

when you are installing the program and you say it doesnt give a option to change the install destination is there a custom tab because if there is you should be able to click it and change the install destination there.

No it does not give me a custom tab, I click on the packaged file and it begins trying to install no menus nothing. Just the app window saying that it is installing.
