Need help with installing sound driver on xp desktop

Hello,

I recently formatted my machine and tried to re install the sound driver, realtek '97.

I follow all instructions to the point inwhich it's installed and restart the machine and still there's no sound:confused:

What should I do?

I'm not sure. I just wanted to say that I had the same problem, I tried installed the audio manager by Realtek, and it looked succesful. But when I botted up, I couldnt find the program, even though it shows up in add/remove programs. :confused::confused::confused:

Yeah, the exact same thing. Says it's installed successfully but when i re boot, there's nothing. Head wrecking!
