need help with internet explorer

first off,not a computer genius.right now i have internet explorer 7 on my pc.i need to make it to where if you type something in the address bar,other things dont come up.here is a example.

on my old pc.i could just go to google or yahoo.(type something im not suppose to in).then delete the todays history.at the top in the addy bar google would show up but not whatever i typed on google.anyone know what im talking about and could pointme in the right direction on where to go.thanks

2) Select the Content tab
3) Under the AutoComplete section, click Settings button
4) Make any changes you want in there.

This isn't an answer to your question, but I would get Firefox. IE gave my comp viruses.

im currently using windows live onecare.havent had any problems using it since it first came out.but im also careful where i go

thank you.that did work but not how it was on my old pc.i had xp and it did what i was talking about only after i had service pack 2 installed.this will do for now though.thanks again
