need help with mp3 player

I have bought two mp3 players but both are not recognized by the computer, is there something wrong with my USB connection, i have two years old computer it has all high end features.
I'm getting fraustrated because my Sony camera, and mouse works perfectly with USb connection so why not MP3 player, am I doing something wrong is there any other alternative technology to downloading music from computer other then USB port?

any answer will be greatly appreciated.
 
what do you mean "not recognized?" do u mean the comp isnt automatically finding them or do you mean they stop working or do you mean you cant even install them using the software? need some details here and will be glad to help. :)
 
software are installed easilly

but device is not recognized when i plug into usb port, surprising because i use camera with usb easily but somehow MP3 player is not detected.
 
mine did the same. it were only some cheap thing that cost like £35 and the comp wouldnt work. but i found if u turn it off completely and then turn it on after u have installed it without plugging in the mp3 player it ussually works. same with my nokia i had, it wouldn't so i did it and it worked. come to think about it thats what i had to do with ma bluetooth dongle and wireless thingy. maybe its cos i have a shite pc lolsh :P try that and see if that works :D
