What do you guys think? Any suggestions or anything?
If there are suggestions, it might be a problem. Because South Africa doesn't have any big computer shops/suppliers. But please input your comments :)

Perhaps going with an AMD processor and mother board would be a better option. Like some people have said in other threads, the LGA 775 socket is basically dead, or dying. Why pay for old technology when you could go with AMD's line of chips and have a brighter future. AMD won't beat out the i7s but for a tight budget they can't be beat. Just a suggestion though, if you are set on that chip, I'm sure it won't disappoint.

Ah well.. I'll take what you said into mind, but I've never used AMD/ATi before so just to be safe (since it is my first build) I'd rather stick with intel and Nvidia. Plus this is costing me so much I won't be doing any upgrades for a looong time.!
What AMD do you suggest? I'm looking for a quad, since most games now will be taking full use of the cores. Thanks for the suggestion!

I would actually say that an AMD build would be easier to do. I was set on making my first build an Intel until I helped a friend of mine build an AM3 quad build. They're great for budget builds. I would check out the AM3 Phenom II x4 810. It should be very affordable since it's clocked at 2.6GHz, and you can always overclock it.

I'm actually under no budget at all here, so I'm looking for the best regardless of price.
I know this might be demanding, but, is there a AMD quad core thats clocked normally at minimum 3.0Ghz?

The 810 really isnt that great tbh, the Phenom II X3 720 is better, as it overclocks more and has the full amount of cache. In most benches the 720 beats the 810.

yea there is the 940 which is clocked at 3.0 and the 955 which is clocked at 3.2 and has an unlocked multiplier and overclocks like a beast.

I was just mentioning the cheapest AM3 quad, because he requested a quad core build. The 720 probably would be a good way to go in a tricore build.

Yeah, if there isn't a budget limitation I would definitely recommend the 940. A friend of mine bought it and it's a beast lol. Runs very cool.

The 940 is a great chip, only thing that sucks is it is am2+, would need a 945 or 955 for am3:(

Well that depends what motherboard you're going to buy :P

None of the AMD processors will fit in the i7 motherboard that you have linked in the OP. The 940 is the AM2+ model of an AMD quad core processor ,and the 945 is the AM3 model equivalent of the AMD quad core.
