hi,
i know is long, but i really need help!
Im currently using my dads laptop. On Wednesday, I was downloading music from kazaa (please dont close this thread cuz i am saying that i was downloading music from kazaa!!! read it all first!!!). When the download completed, i opened the music file and it was a PORN VIRUS!!!. Lots of porn Pop Ups, instead of music, i downloaded porn pictures, etc. Then the PC froze. I was really pissed off so i punched the side of the Computer. After the punch the monitor goes completely black. I pressed the power button for 5 seconds to turn the pc off. I pressed the button again to turn it On and this happens: The PC turns On, turns Off, turns On, turns Off, turns On, turns Off,turns On until it stays turned On. The yellow light of the PC begins to flash. The monitor is black, you cant see nothing. when the yellow light stops flashing. if I type the password to access the PC, nothing happens, the yellow light of the pc doesnt flash.
I hope someone can help, Thanx

So your punch was more devastating than that porn-malware...
If you're lucky, it's only a loose contact somewhere in the computer. Take out the videocard, RAM, etc. and then put them back on.

This is the first case I have ever heard of someone punching a laptop screen. You probably damaged the inners of the LCD, most likely the crystals and electric paths, which is not good. Even worse, shorted out the entire laptop (Not likely, but a possibility). This means you would need to buy a new screen thats the right dimensions, getting the bug off the computer, or reinstalling windows which is much easier, but your dad could have had some important docs on there. Lets hope he backed up often. I think the easiest thing to do is yank the hard disk out, get the data off, and see if the laptop is recoverable (ex: local repair center). This teaches you a lesson the hard way not to download this kindof stuff.

Especially through Kazaa, it has been one of the most used programs for several years now. That means you're gonna be putting yourself at risk that much more using it.

wow lol punching an lcd screen. Yea its probably just a loose connection between the monitor>video or video>motherboard. Just slip the the paper thin cable back into the original spot

U have probably have damaged pixels now. N before u punched the screen the best was 2 get rid of all the junk wud b 2:

1. Run Bazooka

2. Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs (look 2 c if there is anything)

3. If all else fails, re-install Windows.

Am I getting it wrong? There's no reference of punching the lcd screen. Even more, it's a desktop, not a laptop...

Ooooo i am soooo confused

I'd say the monitor cable is probably loose, unless you are the size of that huge mechanic from Radiers of the Lost Ark that gets chopped up by the plane prop I doubt you could seriously damage the computer by punching the case.
