Need help with Network

I need help setting up a network in my house.

Right now, we have one network (with a modem), and it works just fine, but I want to set up another network, without a modem.

The router I am using is a Dlink dir-615. I already have it set up with one pc connected to it, with a network cable.

However, whenever any of the computers try to connect to that computer, using the wireless router, they can all connect to the router, but only 2 of them can connect to the pc.

Why is that?

What operating systems are we talking about? So are you trying to connect the 2 networks? Make sure you aren't using the internet port jack, all pc's must be plugged into one of the 4 lan ports.

5 pcs 1 is Win 8 the rest are Win 7.

I'm not trying to connect 2 networks, just trying to set up one network, without internet access.

Well my guess is that you have some sort of security software that won't allow it to connect to it. What security software is installed on the machines that can't see the other?

Well the firewall security is just the basic microsoft firewall that came with the pcs.

Antivirus: Microsoft Security Essentials
Malware protection: Malwarebytes

At this point, I don't know. Would have to be something on the pc's that can't connect. Probably sharing and something like that. Check network and sharing to make sure network discovery is on and not off.

What is your topology?
Why do you need this 'other network'.

If you want them all on a contiguous network but with one subset not being able to access the Internet, you would essentially need something like VLANs and a device to route between these subnets. The router would need to know about the other subnet on the network and you'd have to have a router interface on each subnet.

You could probably rig it by using another router's 'internet' port off of your existing LAN and not handing out default gateway settings through DHCP, but it's ugly.

If you are currently using something like the above, your devices behind the internet facing router wouldn't be able to traverse NAT back into the secondary router's LAN.
