need help with older laptop

I have an old laptop windows 98. When i was younger i put all sorts of dumb crap on it. What i want to do is to somehow erase everything that isnt needed, like a way to purposely destroy all the non-default applications and things like that. can someone help me w/ this? Please!

just pop in an os cd and format it.

And if you mean some method by which you "magically go back to the state the laptop was before you messed it up without formatting", not really doable with Windows98 (unless you thought of that earlier, but from your questions id say you didnt)

Unless you have the cd or floppies that came with the os, i dont believe there is a way to get rid of everything, just go through your files and delete what you dont need.
