I'm a business studies student in my final year and i need a bit of help with a project. We have to set up a business and talk about setting up a website etc.
Our product is a ringtone service where people can go online to our website, download an application similar to itunes i guess where people can log in, download ringtones and manage their accounts.
We dont have the first clue about what we need though. We have to detail everything in terms of how were setting up a website to servers were using etc but we dont have to actually go out and do it in the real world! lol
We pretty much have down how to set up a website (or at least the basics) but were confused with servers. At the moment, all im saying is, we need a server to host our download application so were buying this one http://www.123-reg.co.uk/dedicated-server-hosting/ and thats it. Were saying the server will manage our software application and allow people to access it again and again. someone also told us if were planning on hooking up with major phone providers we'd need a server to transfer information with them in terms of ringtones ordered and played etc. (i told you we dont have the first clue about this lol)
Am i way off with this stuff? we have to go into detail but not too much. its a business project after all not computers. I just want to get the basics right though. thanks for any help
We also need to reference everything we find so im kinda looking for concrete references to back up stuff for the project :S
