I have a fairly new (purchased in Feb) HP Pavilion DV7 with the following specs:
-Intel Core i5-2450M CPU @ 2.50GHz (2 cores, 4 Logical Processors)
-8gb's of DDR3 RAM
-Intel Graphics HD 3000 Integrated Graphics Card
-Windows 7 64bit OS
I have been watching Minecraft videos for some time now on Youtube, but never played it until yesterday. I downloaded the demo version and needless to say, I am now addicted to it. The only problem is that I can't play the game without noticeable lag unless I have the render distance set to short or tiny and the graphics set to fast. I assume this is because of my integrated Intel Graphics card. I contacted HP to see if I could replace the card, but didn't realize the graphics card was soldered to the motherboard and could not be replaced and there is no way to add another better graphics card from say NVIDIA. I was just wondering if there truly is no way to replace or add another graphics card and/or if I'm just doing something wrong settings wise with Minecraft.
I love Minecraft and I suppose I could live with just buying it and playing it with the crappy render distance, but I would prefer to at least be able to play on normal considering the rest of my notebook is more than capable of playing on the best settings.
Thanks for the help!
Nick
