I have pictures and other files on a sata drive from my old laptop that I would like to transfer onto my desktops drive. How do I do this? The sata from my laptop is an mhv2100bh model.

It's SATA so you connect it the same was as your desktop drive. Data and power.

Then you'll have to boot and hit a button for the boot menu, and boot from your regular desktop drive, then you can browse my computer for the laptop drive after windows installs the drivers.

I connected it with the two cables that were connected to my desktops drive and when i boot up it doesnt work. What button do i press for boot menu?

It depends on the motherboard but normally it is either del or f2. It should say on the bios splash screen during boot.
